BRIEF BACKSTORY.
Aliva Coaching, LLC is the creation of Mira Weisenthal, lover of absurdity, minutiae, and people. Mid-way through Mira’s non-linear career, she found herself an abject failure at leaning into the strengths she had always told herself would define her success — the skills she gained out of necessity and honed out of anxiety and which, decades in, she was still middling at… things like drafting RFPs, leading pitch calls, and simultaneously overseeing multiple complex projects with various stakeholders and diverse budgets, scopes, and timelines. (Oh my!)
This moment gave rise to acknowledgement of her true strengths — core coaching skills like being empathetic, listening deeply, and holding vast amounts of complex, conflicting information without judgment — as well as to the refreshingly naked truth that she had finally exhausted all other options and indeed had no choice but to dive into the unknown, turning toward the skills that had always come naturally and which had, if she was honest with herself, always felt kind of pointless.
ENTER ALIVA.
Aliva is the spirit and totality of what Mira seeks to embody and propagate through her work, in all its forms.
Be it coaching, cuddling, music, food, writing about the absurd minutiae of life that she’s decided deserves to be noticed and honored — even when it’s also a source of annoyance or dismay — Aliva is the salty-sweetness that fills all the cracks.
Equal parts tears and melted ice cream, Aliva is the supplement Mira believes we all need more of. It’s heart juice. Life nectar. Soul saliva.
FOUNDER’S BIO.
Mira holds a MS in Organizational Change Management and Coaching from The New School in New York, a Coaching Certification from Lumia, and an ACC credential from the International Coaching Federation (ICF). She currently serves as President-Elect for ICF’s Chicago Chapter.
Beyond the coaching realm, Mira is an accomplished musical curator/DJ, portrait artist, and project manager, and served in Cambodia with the US Peace Corps. She is obsessed with language, as well as music, food, and comedy, and insists she has impeccable taste in all — yet to be contested.
Mira has lived a fair amount of life for the time she has been alive, boasts that she has intentionally broken her heart on at least 3 occasions, and holds strong opinions loosely — unless they are about things that really matter, such as forks, umbrellas, and respect for life in all forms. She might also be the most gullible person in the world, and is generally fine with that being the case.
